General Rules of II BXComp – 2º Campeonato de Programação dos Calouros do Curso de Sistemas de Informação – 2012.
About the participation
To participate in the second edition of BXComp, the student must fulfill the following requirements:
- Currently take EACH-USP’s course “ICC 2” – (Introduction to Computer Science II).
- The student must have entered at 2012.
- The student must not have taken any courses related to programming or Data Structure, except if equivalent to ICC1, prior to this graduation.

Registration were open from August 20th to August 31st.
Notes:
- No registration fee wil be charged;
- The number of teams is unlimited.
- The tournament will only be held with a minimum of three teams.
About the Execution
The championship will consist of seven rounds, using a group tournament ranking system. All rounds will occur as the schedule below at Laboratory 7 (situated at the “Ciclo Básico” buildings – 2nd floor, 3rd corridor), at 2 p.m.

About the Rules
1. Each competitor is only allowed to be in one team only.
2. The teams will be ranked according to their points on every round.
3. In the competition days , each team must have at least 2 present competitors. Otherwise , the team will be considered absent and will not score any points on that round.
4. The teams are not allowed to have coaches. They will be composed only by competitors.
5. On each round, one or more challenges will be presented, and each one will be worth a number of points previously determined.
6. Each team will have 2 hours to solve the challenge(s) of that round.
7. Each round will have a maximum score of 12 points, associated with the number of challenges that have been submitted by the team.
8. Most of the rounds will be composed by four challenges.
9. At the end of the championship , in case of tie, the following criteria will be used to tiebreak:
9.1 The lowest sum of time of challenges resolution during the championship.
9.1 The lowest sum of submissions of resolutions during the championship
9.1 The lowest sum of the team’s absences during the championship.
10. On the end of each match day, the Ranking will be updated according to the score reached on that stage and will be available on the website.
11. It is prohibited the communication between the teams during the rounds.
12. It is prohibited the use of any reference material during the rounds.
13. The teams that disobey the rules 11 and 12 will not score in the Ranking on the corresponding stage.
14. In case of plagiarism, the teams involved will be disqualified until one of them takes the blame.
15. All the teams that attend to at least four rounds, will receive a Certificate of Participation. The top 3 will be awarded with exclusive medals of BXComp II.
About the Final Considerations
Any cases not foreseen in this regulation will be analyzed by the championship organization.
